During the pandemic, people’s mental health suffered more than ever as we were all hidden away. Papyrus was there to listen. The campaign was voted ‘Ad of the week’ on Lurzers Archive.
PAPYRUS – BEDTIME STORIES
ROLE: CREATIVE DIRECTION
Papyrus is a charity for the prevention of young suicide. This campaign aimed at parents, raised awareness of cyber bullying on children who are left unsupervised with devices.
PAPYRUS – EXAM STRESS
Role: Creative Direction
Exams are tough on school children with mental health issues and effect the suicide rate in young people. We placed our own questions in textbooks and used posters around schools to offer support.
We placed signs in exam halls to remind students not to stay silent.
PAPYRUS – SPOT THE SIGNS
Role: Creative Direction
The signs of suicide are hard to spot. We so often hear the phrase, ‘You’d never know they were thinking of suicide.’ We filmed a social experiment to see how people would react if the signs were obvious.
PAPYRUS – BRAVE FACE
Role: Creative Direction
We all look at people’s ‘enviably happy perfect lives’ on social media. But behind the perfect pouts and smiling faces, some people aren’t doing so well. These ads ran across social and OOH.
PAPYRUS – STRESS IN THE WORKPLACE
Role: Creative Direction
Poor mental health can be caused or made worse by the stress of work. These factors can lead to suicidal thoughts. A twist on a seat reservation ticket was used on commuter trains to highlight the issue.
PAPYRUS – DEAD BOY
Role: Creative Direction
Suicide rates in school children are alarmingly high. And more often than not it’s those children who seem like they are very successful who are unexpectedly the ones most at risk.
PAPYRUS – EXAM STRESS BOOKS
Role: Creative Direction
These exercise books were sent to schools to offer support during the stress of exam time. Each book had an angst filled ‘doodle’ printed on the first page to reflect the theme.
PAPYRUS – TIME TO TEXT
Role: Creative Direction
Getting young people to talk about suicide is a big ask, so we suggested that they if they couldn’t talk, they could text instead. This resulted in an uplift in communication to the Papyrus HopeLine.
